Originally from the Caribbean and born in Paris, Jazz singer Faby Médina comes from a family of music lovers. She began dancing at the age of 5 at the conservatory of her town, a discipline she practiced for more than twenty years, including one at the Rick Odums International Jazz Dance Center. She tasted several instruments such as the piano, the violin and the flute, then ended up choosing lyrical singing at the age of 14. At 16, she studied by joining one of the most prestigious Parisian gospel choirs of the moment, the "Gospel Chords Singers". Doors open and she never ceases to enchant concert halls and festivals, and to accompany artists. At the age of 20, she fully entered the professional world by joining Jérôme Savary's troupe in Bertolt Brecht's play “La resistible ascension d'Arturo Ui” with Guy Bedos at the head of the bill, where she expresses her talents. singer, dancer and discovers the theater, which becomes her second passion. It is the beginning of the first meetings with musicians of jazz, gospel, varieties, singers from all horizons, actors, directors, and from these meetings will be born groups, formations and projects through which Faby acquires all his experience.

Musicals, concerts, albums, pubs, featuring, video clips, short film, Faby finds himself alongside the greatest French and international artists such as Brigitte, M, Tribal Jam, Michael Bolton, Guillaume Canet, Laurent Voulzy, Gérald De Palmas , Kelly Roland, Rod Stewart, Indochine, Thiéfaine, Tina Arena, Céline Dion, Jessie Norman, Cunnie Williams, Garou, I AM, NTM, Didier Lockwood, Alain Jean-Marie, Marc Laferrière, Amel Bent, Micky Green, Dick Annegarn and many others.

Faby Médina is also a songwriter for cinema and television with, among other things, the single “Woman” from the original soundtrack of the film “Yamakasi”, a production by Luc Besson.

 

But what fascinates Faby above all is jazz, this music that she has always listened to. She studied piano and voice at the Bill Evans Piano Academy. In 2001 she made a major encounter with a big name in jazz, Monsieur Claude Bolling, who revealed her as a jazz singer and finally allowed her to blossom in this music. For about fifteen years she has been the female voice of the “Claude Bolling Big Band” with which she enchants tours, prestigious concerts and jazz festivals.

     

After having traveled through these different musics, Faby presents today his new project with original compositions. A stroll between swing, be-bop and pop with a touch of soul in his voice, Faby writes his own story with his first album "Following Love".
